Stuttgart Golf Days: New golf alliance between CMT and planetfair
CMT and planetfair form a new top platform for golf enthusiasts
CMT, the world's largest public trade fair for tourism and leisure, and planetfair GmbH are launching a new, long-term partnership. As part of this, CMT's subsidiary trade fair, Golf and Wellness Travel, will be revamped and, as Golftage Stuttgart, will be held from January 21st to 24th, 2027, within the framework of CMT, positioning it as one of Germany's leading golf platforms.
Golf has been an integral part of the CMT trade fair in Stuttgart for years, representing quality, continuity, and high industry relevance. This is precisely where both partners are focusing their efforts: successful formats will remain, while new ideas, modern experiential environments, and innovative content will provide fresh momentum.
Strong network, new synergies
With planetfair, one of the most distinguished organizers in the golf industry contributes its expertise – as the organizer of Hanse Golf in Hamburg and the Munich Golf Days. CMT complements this expertise with its established, international trade fair platform and significant reach. This creates a powerful alliance of three major golf trade fairs: Hamburg, Munich, and Stuttgart.
Exhibiting companies benefit from new synergies, greater reach, more in-depth golf-specific communication, and a strong network across multiple locations. Visitors can look forward to an even more immersive trade fair experience – with plenty of inspiration, interaction, and enthusiasm for golf.
“Together with planetfair, we are elevating the topic of golf to a new level at the CMT trade fair. The Stuttgart Golf Days bring together concentrated industry expertise, offer a comprehensive range of products and services, and showcase the strength of this partnership. Exhibiting companies and golf enthusiasts alike will benefit: with greater visibility, a clearly networked presence for the Hamburg, Munich, and Stuttgart locations, and an even broader range of offerings for a strong start to the golf season in Baden-Württemberg,” emphasizes Alexander Ege, Director of Trade Fairs & Events at Messe Stuttgart.
Golf offers potential
Golf consistently ranks among the most popular sports in Germany in terms of membership. The German Golf Association recently reported approximately 686,700 registered members nationwide (as of January 2025). This figure does not include unorganized golfers (e.g., those playing indoor golf or pay & play). The Baden-Württemberg Golf Association currently has around 76,000 members.
“At the same time, golf is currently experiencing a new dynamic: Increased media presence, innovative formats such as indoor golf, and a growing young target group are making the sport more modern and accessible than ever. Around 60,000 people in Germany are taking up their new passion every year,” says Ingo Klöver, Managing Director of planetfair GmbH.
Golf has long since become more than just a sport for everyone – it's a way of life. Together, CMT and planetfair are pursuing the goal of sustainably expanding the golf trade fair and further establishing it as a key event to kick off the golf season in Baden-Württemberg.
